An Introduction to Maison Berger Fragrance Lamps!

A Guide to Maison Berger Fragrance Lamps

Our Maison Berger fragrance lamps have been a staple of our store for many years, and for good reason. These hardworking lamps help eliminate pesky or lingering odours in your home while beautifully fragrancing your space. However, we often get questions in store about how to use them, as they are quite a unique item. This post introduces you to the world of fragrance lamps, including how to use them, what lamps and fragrances we offer, and how to clean them.

What Is a Fragrance Lamp?

Fragrance lamps, also known as catalytic lamps, are decorative and refillable devices used to scent a room and help neutralise odours. They work through a catalytic burner system, using Maison Berger lamp fragrance to diffuse scent into the room.

The original fragrance lamp was invented by Maison Berger founder Maurice Berger in 1898, when he was working as a French pharmaceutical dispenser.

How to Clean Your Fragrance Lamp

Maison Berger Black Eternity Lamp Berger gift pack

Keeping your fragrance lamp clean helps your burner last longer and prevents scents from becoming muddied by residue. Maison Berger offers a purifying alcohol called Air Pur / So Neutral. Use it in the same way as a fragrance, but only fill your lamp with around an inch of liquid.

We recommend using neutral when changing between fragrances, diluting strong scents, or once a month for upkeep. When cleaned properly, your wick should last around 200 uses.
